A Date with His Excellency


last sunday 27 nov, me n my family were at orchard hotel for the launching of a new logo for SMCCI. Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry. the event was filled with all the big names in the malay community as well as businessmen/women and among them, i saw my poly classmate, taufik is now a IT manager. (whoa) apparently my brother took part in the designing of the new logo n was invited to witness the new logo as well as to see who is the winner. i can see he was a bit nervous n not really interested in enjoying the dinner. it was the President himself that hit the gong three times to unveil the new logo. my parents were seen smiling n that instance i knew the new logo was my brother's. soon, the emcee called out his name, n i accompanied him to receive his prize. a cold hard cash of $+++ n 1 return trip to dubai courtesy of qatar airways. for more info bout the news on SMCCI, click here. sorry its in malay. on a personal note, it was my 1st time attending such a big event n the dinner itself, a fufillin nite. everybody come home happy. happy coz he's a winner, happy coz there's family cohesion. 3 down!

look at the left side of my site.. 3 has already been crossed out. the lastest ones are the handphone n mp3 player. so did i finally managed to get them? kinda ah.. but not according to the ones that i badly wanted. u see i did wanted the k750i but since i couldnt carry any camera phone, i opt for a better non- camera phone. n what i got was the nokia n-gage qd! that handphone has been my comms to the people cum psp cum mp3 player. the list of songs in my n-gage can last a trip from tampines to boon lay. i dun think i would want any mp3 player. for now, its just me and my n-gage!

Raya Part 1

4 cars. 1 van. 29 climbers. when was the last time i really enjoy my day. certainly this is one of them. its hard for everybody to find one day n meet up but last saturday most of us made it. climbers from batch 01, 02, 03 gathered up n did some visiting. its was a fashion parade. u can see all kind of colours. not to mention the races. malay, chinese, .. n indian? (mix ah i think). one word i can describe this visiting. 'WHOLESOME'

2 cars. 10 guys. EOF. Eight One Five. My old block, my old neighbourhood, same old friends. friends for 14 yrs of friendship n still goin strong. unfortunately, i left the climbers after saad's place. by the time i joined EOF, they were already at the 3rd or 4th house. better be late then never rite?! most of us serving the nation but as always, we will die die find a day where everyone can spare a day for this visiting. one word to describe EOF? 'BROTHERHOOD'

claustrophobic

life sucks at the moment. i barely have space to breathe. my past days has been in the outfields wherever in the lion city. you name it, i been there. just last week, i didnt even have the time to do visitng or entertain those guests that came simply im just too drained out. guess my dear lady has been negelcted too. n how i spent my few hours of my civilian time.. go around singapore to find this particular handphone that i started to love to have. apparently, now those people in green are not allowed to use camera hand-phones anymore. since now i already have a digicam, might as well invest in a better non-camera phone. HOPE (*prays) nuthin last minute pop up this weekend coz i REALLY lookin forward to this saturday. sorry to the climbers and E.O.F, i cant join u all for the whole visiting. will be joining the climbers in the morning then late afternoon catch up with my pri sch friends. guess this would be my first n last time im celebrating eid mubarak wearing the green "baju kurung". by the time the next raya comes, i already bid my goodbye.

01 Syawal 1426

Eidilfitri is a occasion to celebrate the end of fasting. its not the mark of a new year. why do people celebrate this joyous occasion?.. fasting isnt just bout refraining from eating and drinking. its bout your 5 senses too. sumthing like see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil. then, theres the 'zakat'. not everybody is as fortunate as us. its our responsibility as fellow muslims to help the weak ones by donating some of our savings to this people so that they too can have good food to break fast, new clothes to wear on Raya. there is also the terawih, 'night prayers'.. reading up of the 'quran', and many more. in short, during this fasting month, its all bout doin the good deeds.

it has not been that smooth sailing for me during the fasting month. due to the tough training in brunei, i didnt not fast for a quite number of days. will be paying back when the time comes. allamdulillah for me, i went for terawih whenever i got the opportunity. breaking fast with my family is another good thing. it builds up the family bond. not everyday that i will eat with them. buying of new clothes?.. none! i told myself what's the use of buyin all this new stuff when ur always wearing green. its so irritating when u noe ur on off then u had to come down to run some errands. sigh.

eve of hari raya. went to geylang coz my frens wan to get 'capal'. went down ard 2+. as usual the place there is jam-packed. althou, my watch says 2+, its like 9pm. everybody was still wide awake n getting last minute bargain. didnt manage to bring my camera coz i wasnt told we're goin to geylang. that morning, i was damn stoned. only had 1 hour of sleep. even 2 cans of red bull didnt help. had subur prayers with family followed by the forgiving session.
